Alcohol

Alcoholism is an addiction which has huge implications on a person’s personal life such as their family and or relationships. If a person is addicted to alcohol, it can lead to tension and overuse can lead to last longing affects.

The labor force is also negatively impacted by the overuse of alcohol. The overuse of alcohol in the workforce leads to a decline in production of labor work and in many cases can lead to extended sick leaves and accidents on the job.

The average age of a person’s first drink of alcohol in the United States is about 16 years old for men while females is about 17 years old.

Binge Drinking

Binge drinkers are men who consume five or more alcoholic drinks or women who consume four or more over a two-hour period. Infrequent binge drinkers may be able to stop on their own accord. Someone addicted to alcohol, however, may want to stop drinking and not be able to without help. In many cases, prolonged binge drinking can develop into alcoholism.
